Get to know Camille Hanton, our 2026 IABC Victoria President

What has been your experience on the Board so far?
I started in 2023 in the Brand portfolio, initially looking after our website, email communications and LinkedIn page. I stepped up to Vice President this year, working hand in hand with the unstoppable Amanda Fong on a range of priorities for the chapter, including fostering momentum, nurturing and expanding our community, and supporting our members to become future fit. It’s been an incredible opportunity to work alongside such talented and motivated professionals who are part of our working committee.

What inspired you to join the Board?
I’ve been curious about working on boards, so when then-VP Julia Loughlin reached out to me about an opening on the Board, I jumped at the opportunity. I was deeply motivated by the goal of seeking to make our profession better, and on a personal level making meaningful professional connections.

What are you looking forward to in 2026?
In 2026, I’m excited to welcome new team members who will no doubt bring fresh thinking, creativity and energy - as well as several returning Board members who have already delivered an incredible program this year and know the chapter well.
When the team is in place, we will get together to plan the activities for 2026. What I can already tell you is that our staples will return such as our Mingles, Deb Ganderton’s Oration, Quills celebration and regular professional development events.

Who are you outside of your Board role?
I’m a PR professional with over a decade of experience across agencies and in-house. Most recently as the PR manager for life and health insurer, AIA Australia, I supported the full enterprise, delivering consumer and B2B campaigns and advising senior executives. Where I thrive is in creating big integrated campaigns that resonate with media and audiences. I’m a staunch project manager so you’ll usually find me with my nose in some sort of Excel planning schedule.
