Message from the President - February 2026

With a spring in our step, we’ve kicked off 2026 with a slew of fantastic events for the comms community and there’s more to come.

2025 was defined by real momentum and community, with more communications professionals showing up to our local breakfast roundtables, cocktail events, webinars, oration and for some venturing as far as Manila for the IABC Asia Pacific Fusion Conference or Vancouver for the IABC World Conference.

In 2026, we’re building on that energy as your IABC Victoria board strives to lift the bar again.

Now’s the time to get involved. Whether you’re a member, a prospective member, or a regular at our events, this is the year to avoid FOMO and participate. We love seeing new and familiar faces alike. Next week, we’ll be appointing our new 2026 Board. We were astounded by the quality and volume of nominations. It’s a powerful sign of just how many leaders want to invest in and shape the future of our profession.

This also marks my final President’s update. I will be shortly passing on the baton to the fabulous Camille Hanton. Having had the pleasure of sitting around the IABC table with her for a couple years, I have no doubt she will take IABC Victoria to new heights.

Finally, it has been nothing short of a pleasure and privilege holding this role. Despite our community coming from such diverse organisations and sectors, I have always been struck by the camaraderie and generosity of intellectual spirit amongst this group. So thank you for your many and varied contributions in making this chapter so special.
