IABC Vic Gala: Celebrating leadership, passion and excellence

The threat of flood didn't keep guests away from our first Deb Ganderton Oration and 2022 Bronze Quill presentations

On a wild and wet Thursday evening, 13 October, we welcomed our IABC Victoria guests to the stunning space at the State Library of Victoria to enjoy a wonderful evening of reflection, celebration and networking.

The passion in the room was electric as colleagues and friends reconnected and celebrated while we welcomed some people to their first IABC event.

Dr Jen Frahm brought Deb and her legacy to life with some great impersonations and a reminder to us all about our leadership legacy. Through exploring the notion of whole hearted leadership Jen honoured Deb and asked us all to reflect on the traits that make us up - even the ones like shame that we may prefer not to acknowledge.

A huge thanks to Sia Papageorgiou FRSA, SCMP who spoke so warmly of her memory of Deb to the Centre for Strategic Communication Excellence and our principal partner Hope & Glory without whom we couldn't have put on an event of this standard and kept pricing accessible.

In the spirit of excellence, after the oration we presented the Bronze Quill Awards continuing a tradition of over 10 years of recognising excellence in communications by our members. Congratulations to all the winners!

We didn't let anyone forget that it's members month and that they can save 20% off the international dues. Join us and this community of Professional Communicators today.
